I had the worse experience. First they did not disclose that if i did not agree to complete the job there will be a cancellation fee.
I had them complete the job and the technicians were not ready with the tools they needed. They had to ask to borrow a flat head screw driver and they asked to use my house vacuum to clean the dryer vent. They left a big mess of dirt everywhere they cleaned as they were blowing compressed air through the vents they were cleaning without having a vacuum to suck the dust that was coming out after he blasted it with compressed air. I had to clean up and washed bed sheets as dust and dirt was everywhere when they left. Also there were 4 vents that they did not clean as they did not have the ladders to reach them.
Very disappointed as I believed Sears on its reputation.
I do not know if they used a third party to subcontract the work but I would like the service to be done again. Please contact me for more details about this matter. I hope Sears contacts me and come back to redo the job. Thank you. (See More)

I have used Sears for years for my carpet and upholstery cleaning on both my personal home and two rental properties I own and manage. I’ve had great service up until now. The tech was fine but he offered to stretch a small area (2’x2’) of carpet in the master closet after arriving at my home. I was happy that he could do it but found out, after the fact, that it cost $166! The price was not quoted to me in advance. Plus, there were splash marks on the back of the couch that must have gotten there when the tech cleaned the cushions and the whole job took a very long time since, for the first time, only one tech was sent (in my opinion, it is very difficult for one person to do a really good job by themselves on a large order as mine was). When I called Sears on August 26th to discuss my service issues, I was told I would be called back the next day by the manager, Maria. Nobody called me back. I followed up on Sept. 11th and spoke with Maria. She was aware of my complaint (but never called me back) and said that there was nothing she could do about not being quoted the amount for carpet stretching before it was done. Maria said I should have asked. Since the tech did the service of carpet stretching, I had to pay for it even though he never quoted the price to me. I would have said no to that price for such a small area. Maria was unable to tell me of any procedure behind securing permission from a homeowner for additional charges for services not on the work order. So Sears has no procedure and the customer is the one who pays the price—literally. No refund of any sort was offered and I may get a coupon for my next visit. As I concluded with Maria, I thought carpet stretching was going to be about $40 and the mistake I made was trusting Sears that they wouldn’t rip me off because if Sears doesn’t quote the price, that’s the customer’s fault. So before I moved my stuff out of storage and into my house. I had Sears come and clean my carpets. Well one guy was black the other Mexican (Edgar). The black guy got out of the van. Proceeded to put those protective booties on his shoes in the driveway. And then walk on my front lawn. Most workers put on those booties on the front door. I knew we were off to a bad start. Most of the carpet is upstairs. Something told me I should have looked over their shoulders. They pulled into the house these long hoses. I guess that’s normal. I was expecting something like a huge steam vacuum cleaner. So after a couple of days I put my iRobot to work on my Master Bedroom carpet. Which you may know....not that powerful. It vacuumed up all kinds of dirt! I think that black guy didn’t do anything but made it appear he was working, but he actually was Texting the whole time....When I called Sears I told them not to send him back out! My name is Laura Cammarata from Staten Island. I made an appointment to have my 2 very dirty couches (I have 3 little dogs) and staircase done (wool carpet). Not only did Phil and Kendal accomodate my time frame, but they were friendly, professional, informative and did a GREAT job. My couches were over 10 years old and looked brand new. The couches were sanitized, protected and he even did the two litle cushions on my front porch as he left. I have used Stanley Steamer once in the past, and was not impressed. I will say that although we've been loyal Sears customers in the past (no store here anymore), we did not know you had an upolstery cleaning service. Not many carpet cleaning companies do upolstery. I had my carpet cleaned on March 9. I had a problem with spots up and down the hall. Since the price was the same I also had the living room and bedroom cleaned. It was ok. I only had one problem. There were two spots that were dirty that did not get cleaned. The spots up and down the hall were ok. I had cleaned most of them myself but didn't do a great job because i can't reach the floor. the air ducts have constantly been spitting out debris since we had them serviced by Sears. Apparently the dirt was loosened, but never properly vacuumed out. Ever time we walk into a room there is debris all over our floors and furniture. We called them back today and were told that since the 30 day warranty had expired, we would have to pay to have them come out again and do it the right way.
We also paid extra to have a UV light installed in the air duct. We assumed that the technician would tie into an outlet box to power the light, but he simply screwed an outlet into our attic light and hooked up a ratty old extension cord to it. very doubtful that the installation meets building codes. Has anyone been thinking about having their air ducts cleaned out? We just bought a house and wanted to freshen up the air since it had been sitting vacant for a while. I had no idea they air ducts were soo bad! We called Sears carpet & air duct cleaning in Indian Trail and Technician Austin came out and cleaned our air ducts for a great price. I had found the services from Sears Air Duct cleaning to be lacking in many areas. I had my ducts cleaned on November 16, 2017, the two men that came to do the service were Nathan Peterson and Jerry Matte. My first issue was that they did not use any shoe covers when entering the house. The second issue was that the varies air ducts were not covered properly, leaving some gaps where pressure was lost during the cleaning process. I asked Nathan to cover the ducts properly, and even called the office after he didn't, and still nothing was done. Later on Nathan found out there were 3 more ducts that weren't mentioned in the order, I was charged $20 per duct, but those same three ducts including one of the original vents in the order were not cleaned or sealed leading to further pressure lose in cleaning. The vents Nathan did work on were poorly done, he had place a small tube through the grate, not even removing it to see what he was working on, wiggle the tube for a few seconds then moved on to the next vent. They were also needed to clean the Blower/A-coil as well as show me a before/after pictures, and yet I still haven't seen said pictures, i wonder if it was even cleaned. They both were about to leave without cleaning the Dryer duct which was part of the order, they then brought out a basic garage vacuum and cleaned out the entrance to the duct, when i was told that the dryer duct cleaning had to go in deep when i ordered the service. Lastly, they had used my extension cord and used my neighbor's electricity due to not having power in the house. I was told that they had their own power from their van, this lead to some issue with my neighbor. Overall they had done a subpar job and left the areas they worked in a dirty state, I was greatly dissatisfied. I feel that I spent $468 for almost no results. (See More)

Sears Duct Cleaning operating out of Lorton VA is a piece of garbage organization out to rip off anybody they can. It is run by a husband and wife who make their money having their employees overcharge for services and doing a bait and switch. In my case they came to do a $199 duct cleaning and determined I needed to pay them $2900 for mold remediation after they took apart my furnace and told me they could not put it back together without disinfecting it because they did not want to breathe in the mold. Total BS. On the feat out, the slimy Sears worker stole my iPad. Again, this operation. Is run out of Lorton by a husband and wife who live large on the Potomac River at the expense of others. It's a dangerous game they are playing and they should stop if they don't want to run into one body who will one day make the effort to confront them. Their names are easy enough to find. Eduardo and another gentleman showed up, right at 8:30 a.m., ready to clean our air ducts, on 8/14/2017! Their appointment window was from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., so we couldn't have been more pleased!
They were very respectful of our floors, and wore covers over their shoes.
They were finished in a few hours, but we didn't feel like they were rushing to get to another job. We feel as though they did a great job, as the air quality in our home seemed to have improved right away!

The technician was very nice but I felt a bit unprofessional. Once he took the vent off, if there was anything on it, he would clean it off by hand and dump it on the floor, so now I have residue on the floor under every vent. I noticed in one of the door ways, looks like the ladder scuffed the wall. Once the job was complete, I understand it is hot outside, but when he came in to wash his hands, I think he splashed his face because there was water on my mirror and pooled around the sink. Not to mention a trail of water drips from that restroom to my kitchen. I think he was very very nice, but I was taken back by the mess left. (See More)
